AP End of the Year Project: 2011

End of year Objective: Students will choose one event in US History and demonstrate how that was a turning point for the future of our nation.

Directions: Choose any event or decision that you feel changed the course of our nation. You need to support this conclusion by presenting your arguments to the class. You can choose any three forms of technology for use in your presentation. See rubric
You can create your own wikispacepage or website and all aspects of your presentation should be included there. Please name your wikispace page or website with your last names or name of your group. It should be clear who is working on that page or site. The top of your wiki page or website should also include a brief description and date(s) of the event or decision you have chosen. (try timetoast.com ) If you choose to create your own website place a link on the Topics page of this wiki.

Your page needs to include the following information:
Provide background and context of event.
Identify individuals who were involved in the event and explain their role and significance. Leader? Decision maker? Organizer? Major participant?
Summarize the event. What makes this significant?
What was the public’s opinion, response, attitude at the time? During? After? Differing viewpoints of various segments of population?
What lesson(s) can be learned by outcome or result?
How would US be different if the event had not occurred or had resulted in a different outcome? Result of alternative decision ?
Presentation:
Video or Power point/screencast/wiki or combination of all, music, speeches, interactive links to primary sources
Bibliography or list sites on delicious.com- link to this site from wiki page or website

Rubric:
